In The Beginning

In 1992, While living in Flagstaff, AZ, I came up with the idea of QuilTak while sitting at the Phoenix airport with my niece Bari, on our way to visit my sister and brother in law in Ohio.  It was an idea that would not go away.  I approached Darcy Falk about starting up the business with me.  She had knowledge of marketing and came on board.  We made a great team and had lots of fun along with many grins.  Recently I got a card from her with two photos she had come across.  I just had to share.

QuilTak Booth in Las Vegas, NV Quilt Show

Our first quilt show booth, 1993

Two friends starting a new adventure.

Getting ready for our first quilt show as a vendor. Driving from Flagstaff, AZ to Las Vegas, NV

This first photo is of our very first booth.  We think it was from a Las Vegas Quilt Show.  Neither of us can quite remember. We loaded the little Camry station wagon to the gills and off we went.  Fearless, Optimistic and Hopeful.  QuilTak has continued her successful journey through almost 30 years.  Darcy has her own company now https://tallulaharthead.com where she makes her wonderful art pieces, oilcloth & cork market bags, accessories and more.  Check her out.

Grins, Bari
